COOPERATE - Cooperation Builders
Overview
Sometimes, we find that the best motivation we can provide to our
students comes from other students in the classroom. Promoting student interaction has numerous positive effects in the classroom from supporting learning to reducing the feeling of alienation and isolation. Activities that promote cooperation and collaboration are a great way to promote student interaction and increase motivation.
Prerequisites
All you need is a willing group and enough room to move around freely. There are no
prerequisits for these activities other than the spirit of cooperation and the desire to help your kids to learn to COOPERATE and work together.
Objectives

How to Take this Unit
As the instructional leader, you are in a position to
review, learn, and use the activities found within this module along with fellow staff members and/or directly with the kids in your program.
However, if you are participating in the professional development component of this program as well, you will need to complete the PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY for this module to demonstrate your own understanding and successful implementation of the Cooperate unit.

Course Duration
Each of the activities found within this unit can take between 20 to 90 minutes
to implement with kids depending upon the number of participants you
have and whether or not you include the Academic and Social extension
activities.
