Learning simply
cannot occur if your class is not focused and
attentive. Capturing the
attention of a classroom can be a challenge for both beginning and seasoned
teachers. Over time, you’ll undoubtedly develop and adopt your own techniques
for focusing student attention and preparing to kick off any lesson,
discussion, or activity. These techniques are an invaluable part of any
teacher’s toolkit.
The only prerquisites for Attention Grabbers is the desire to actively direct your students attention and focus on the day's activities. Get ready for fun, fast ways to re-focus the group.
The objectives are simple, learn to successfully implement the following activities, which are available on this site and are designed to grab the attention of your participating kids:
- Don’t Forget to Breathe
- Get it Out
- Happy New Year
- If You Can Hear Me
- Touch Blue
- Two Bits
However, if you are participating in the professional development component of this program as well, you will need to complete the PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY for this module to demonstrate your own understanding and successful implementation of the Grabbers unit.
