Overview

Gotcha! is an extremely fast-moving tag game where everyone is "it" at the same time. Each round kicks-off with a burst of energy as group members try to tag one another and not be tagged.The purpose of this activity is to have fun and create emotion through playful motion.

In the following module you will learn how to properly set-up and facilitate the activity and then if you wish, move students through an academic and/or social skills development reflection experience.

Prerequisites

Ages
Gotcha! is appropriate for 3rd grade and up. Because this is a fact action game, it is important to monitor your students and make sure everyone is being a good citizen.

Group Size
A group size of 10 or more is best for this activity.

Setting
Any school setting is appropriate for this activity. Before you start make sure to canvas the area where your activity will take place, for any materials that might trip your students.

Duration
This activity should take about 5-10 minutes to complete with your group. Budget more time if you wish to go into depth by using any of the extension activities or questions.

  • Be evenly matched because of the nature of the rules
